Our Ground Engineering Practice covers all elements of Ground Engineering serving a wide range of end markets including the energy, water, defence, highway and railway sectors. We provide one-stop access to services in feasibility and desktop studies, ground investigation, interpretation, detailed design, contract administration, technical advisory and construction supervision for geotechnical works. We work for leading UK, Irish and international clients and have commissions of varying scale across all sectors. AECOM UK & Ireland Ground Engineering Practice has an Engineering Geologist level vacancy in our Glasgow or Edinburgh office. A full-time or part-time role is available. What can we offer? Our Scottish Ground Engineering team is currently managing geotechnical input on projects across Scotland and Ireland, including: A890 Stromeferry Bypass Lethans Wind Farm A82 Rest and be Thankful, Glen Earrach Pumped Hydro, N4 Mullingar to Longford, N26 Ballina Bypass Galway to Oughterard Greenway. We also support on projects across the UK and internationally such as Northumberland Line and Sellafield Ltd decommissioning. We have a stable workflow with commissions on several frameworks, including Network Rail (Mining Risk Assessments), Caledonia Water Alliance and Transport Scotland (Geotechnical Certification). We require ambitious team players to work alongside our highly-skilled team in the delivery of a variety of interesting projects which will elevate their professional career. Job Duties include: Collaborate: Collaborating with more senior staff in project delivery. Participating in team/client technical review meetings and contributing to fee bids and proposals, if desired. Provide Expertise: Authoring a wide range of geotechnical documents, including desk studies, interpretative reports, specifications, construction drawings and design reports. As well as contributing to geotechnical assessments, designs, calculations and analyses. Supervision: Site works including technical supervision of ground investigations, rock slope inspections and slope remedial works. The position will suit an engineering geologist candidate with relevant post graduate experience who is looking to further develop their skills and experience. Our team will provide the necessary support and the excellent development opportunities through which the candidate can progress into more independent roles and ultimately start leading geotechnical input to projects from desk study/feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design.
