Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse - Acute Medicine
The Acute Medical Unit is a dedicated front-of-house facility with an integrated trolley-based Assessment Unit and a new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. Supported by integrated diagnostics, therapies, and pharmacy hubs, this is designed to give people better access to emergency care and cut through long waiting lists, aiming to minimize the length of stay for patients (target being 48 hours).
The acute medical workforce is currently being expanded to meet the service redesign changes. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the running and establishment of the Acute Medical Unit consisting of an assessment unit, short stay unit, and Same Day Emergency Care.
