Job summary
We have a fantastic opportunity to recruit to a Lead Hepatology Dietitian to be part of a Dietetic Team supported by a Band 4 Hepatology Assistant Practitioner.
This post is suited to an experienced Dietitian to develop their leadership and service development skills within Hepatology and Liver Transplantation, whilst having a sound clinical and working knowledge and expertise of these clinical areas.
Additional funding was awarded within the past few years to expand this team - this is indicative of the high regard that Dietetics is held within the Hepatology Services.
Clinical and service demand would lend this position being worked over 4 days (Tuesday to Friday).
Main duties of the job
To act as part of the wider Hepatology and Transplant MDT, providing very highly specialised services to hepatology patients and providing leadership to the Dietitians within this clinical area. The clinical remit includes encompassing dietetic input to hepatology patients within the region and wider geography.
Provision of input and Dietetic Management of both Inpatients and Outpatients within the Transplant Programme and provide leadership and direction to the Hepatology and Transplant services at Addenbrooke's Hospital and other external Units / agencies as appropriate.
To work within a multi professional framework and contribute to a quality service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.
To set and work towards individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.
Be an active member of the Gastroenterology, Renal and Liver Specialist Team within the department.

CUH is a centre for Liver Transplantation and the Dietetic Team offers rotations, so skills are gained and developed in general hepatology, pre-liver and post-liver transplantation, ICU, Outpatient Clinics and regular anthropometric measurements to an ongoing patient cohort. Its a fast paced, busy acute role, but extremely rewarding and valued within CUH and the MDT.
The Hepatology Dietetic Team are part of a nation-wide network of Hepatology and Liver Transplant Dietitians who meet quarterly to progress evidence-based practice and national agenda.
The Hepatology Team sits within the Renal, Gastro and Hepatology Team within the wider Dietetic team, so there is plenty of opportunity for cross speciality learning and discussion.
The Department has a thriving and well regarded Research Group and has supported staff with post graduate qualifications; offering junior staff or those new to research guidance and support in research skills development.

Essential
4. Registered Dietitian with active HCPC registration
5. Appropriate diploma / degree to Masters level - such as Masters in Advanced dietetic Practice or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
6. Strong evidence of CPD (portfolio) with evidence of training in specialist clinical area
Desirable
7. Courses undertaken relevant to hepatology / transplantation or equivalent professional society
8. GSG group member or equivalent professional society
9. Undertaken courses accredited by professional body relevant to the post

10. Significant level of general dietetic experience plus demonstrable clinical experience in hepatology and/or transplantation in both the Inpatient and Outpatient setting
