The School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer plays a vital role in fostering a safe and supportive environment for at-risk youth within educational settings. This position is dedicated to implementing preventive measures against youth offending and engaging students in positive activities that promote personal development and awareness. Leveraging strong communication and interpersonal skills, the officer will collaborate closely with schools, families, community organizations, and local law enforcement to address the root causes of juvenile delinquency. Responsibilities
Develop and implement youth engagement programs aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency.
Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community organizations to identify at-risk students.
Provide mentorship and counseling services to students, helping them navigate personal and academic challenges.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions on life skills, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of prevention programs, adjusting strategies as necessary.
Serve as a liaison between schools, law enforcement, and social services to coordinate support for youth.
Prepare and present reports on youth trends and program outcomes to stakeholders for strategic planning.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Education, or a related field.
Experience working with youth in educational or community settings.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by at-risk youth and effective intervention strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
Ability to develop and implement engaging programs tailored to youth interests and needs.
Knowledge of local community resources and support services.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting social justice and equity within educational systems.
Hours Per Week: 35.00

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Annum: £18.80
