Role: Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist - covering Sarcoma, Germ cell and Lung\n\nRates: £110-£130 per hour dependant on experience. Inside IR35\n\nShifts: Monday-Friday, full or part time considered. Specialises in Sarcoma, Germ cell and Lung.

By choosing to build a strong and rewarding career at this NHS trust you will become a key element within their vision to improve the health of the population, with particular focus upon the most vulnerable in our society.\n\nGeneral key skills \n\nIn addition to your qualifications, as an Oncology Consultant you will have:\n\nQuick thinking abilities\nPatience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations\nExcellent attention to detail\nA systematic approach to tasks\nExcellent timekeeping\nThe ability to work well and under pressure\nEmpathy and understanding\nA flexible attitude\nA desire to improve and develop knowledge and skills\nActive listening skillsMain Duties/Responsibilities \n\nAs an Oncology Consultant with this trust you will:\n\nActively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis, stage of cancer and treatment options using a variety of methods, to ensure practical understanding.\nAssist in managing the side effects and symptoms of cancer and its treatment including pain management.\nCoordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.\nTreat patients with radiation therapy (applies to Clinical Oncologists only).\nProvide constant monitoring and care for patients in seriously ill or unstable conditions.\nCommunicate with patients on shared patient decision making\nWork in and where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team\nAssess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.\nRecognise, review, and report a patient's condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team.\nPerforming basic administrative and clerical tasks, such as keeping records of test results, writing prescriptions, providing cancer information to patients, and monitoring treatment plans.\nResponsible for adhering to the GMC professional Code of Conduct.Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications \n\nEssential\n\nBe a GMC registered Doctor (you do NOT need to be on the Specialist Register).\nHave relevant experience at Consultant level, or references to support your transition up to Consultant level.\nHold evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK (unfortunately locum jobs aren't able to offer visa sponsorship).\nYou will need to pass an enhanced background check (DBS). \n\nIf you are ready to work in a hospital that prides itself on the opportunities provided to staff and the care provided to patients, apply today, and enjoy access to hundreds of shifts, a dedicated Recruitment Consultant and revalidation support
