A fast growing Distribution Company currently has a great opportunity for an experienced, tenacious Accounts Assistant to join their team, reporting directly to the Company Director.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for the transactional accounts within your remit, ensuring all accounts are accurately managed in a timely manner. You will support key stakeholders as required, manage your own workload, and work well independently.
You will also be an integral part of the team and therefore involved in some decision-making. A keen eye for detail and the enthusiasm to support others are essential.

As an Accounts Assistant, your role will include the following tasks:
1. Acting as the initial finance contact for customers and suppliers, answering telephone and email enquiries, and contacting customers and suppliers as required.
2. Setting up new customers and suppliers in finance software, ensuring payment details, credit limits, and terms are correctly recorded.
3. Assisting with Management Accounts - Journals, pre-payments, and trial balance.
4. Processing supplier purchase invoices.
5. Processing customer sales invoices.
6. Bank reconciliations.
7. Reconciling monthly company credit card statements.
8. Assisting with allocations of supplier and customer accounts.
9. Assisting with some debtor management and credit control.
10. Providing day-to-day support for internal and external projects, including liaising with other parties as necessary.
11. Utilizing advanced Excel skills, including V-lookups and Pivot tables.
12. Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
13. Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
14. Strong customer service orientation and commercial awareness.
15. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
16. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a good personality.
17. Driving licence with transport.
Experience:
1. Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently.
2. Highly organised and detail-oriented.
3. AAT Level 4 or equivalent by QBE.
