* This is a part time role based in Neurological Outpatients working 16 hours a week, days and hours negotiable within Monday to Friday, 0800-1630, fixed term til 31 Aug 2024.

Older Persons Health and Rehabilitation is a division of Te Whatu ora, Waitaha (CDHB) based at Burwood.
The Burwood Physiotherapy Team is made up of 65 Physiotherapists and 15 Physiotherapy Assistants split into 3 teams including a Musculoskeletal team, a Neurology Team, and an Older Persons and Older Persons Mental Health team. Currently, this role is one of 3 Physiotherapists working in the Neuro Outpatient Team based in the Spinal Injuries Gym at Burwood.
Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for carrying out effective patient assessments and formulating goal-based treatment plans. The referral base is made up of Neurological Conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), Spinal Injuries, and Vestibular Conditions. You will have access to Hydrotherapy as one of your treatment choices. You will be an autonomous practitioner with a high level of clinical reasoning skills and passionate about neurological physiotherapy. You’ll take joint responsibility for the neuro outpatient caseload and be flexible to cover leave in the Neuro cluster including Brain Injury, Stroke, and Spinal Injuries.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Carrying out effective patient assessment, evaluation, and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice;
* Formulating treatment interventions to meet individual needs in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team;
* Ensuring effective communication with other members of the physiotherapy team and wider MDT team;
* The ability to hit the ground running with the energy and passion to deliver a high standard of care to patients;
* The ability to develop a close working relationship with physiotherapy assistants and the wider physiotherapy team;
* Flexibility and adaptability with an enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across and beyond your discipline;
* Flexibility to work in any of our rehabilitation areas depending on need in conjunction with the wider interdisciplinary teams;
* It is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current practicing certificate to be considered for this role;
* You will either be an existing ENABLE assessor or eligible for registration;
* You will be required to participate on the weekend roster, the amount, the day, and the type of roster is negotiable.
