A Quality Weld Inspector is required for a leading UK engineering company that specialise in pressure vessel design and manufacturing. Based at my clients Bridgend (South Wales) facility, this exciting opportunity will be responsible for conducting thorough Quality and Weld Inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards, Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), regulatory standards and customer requirements.
Working within a small but experienced quality engineering team, you'll be working with a wide range of clients across sectors including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Water, Chemicals, Green Energy, and Renewables.
Responsibilities:
1. You will utilise all available methods of Inspection, including but not limited to, Visual, Dye Penetrant (LP), Magnetic Particle (MPI), and Ultrasonic (UT) testing to carry out comprehensive inspection of all products.
2. You will also create accurate inspection reports, including any non-conformances, and work closely with the Production department to address and resolve any quality issues.
We are seeking individuals with the following skills and experience:
1. You are CSWIP 3.1 qualified as well as having at least one additional Inspection qualification in NDT such as Dye penetrant, Magnetic Particle or Ultrasonic testing, and you are confident in using them and keen to qualify further.
2. You will have substantial Quality Inspection experience within a similar regulated manufacturing or engineering environment, within a sector such as Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Nuclear or similar.
3. You have an excellent understanding of welding processes and applications, most likely were a talented welder before moving into Inspection, and you really enjoy working in a busy, demanding, cross-functional position.
4. You will be proactive, enthusiastic and in possession of excellent communication skills; you tend to work in a methodical manner, with a strong attention to detail and process.
This is a permanent position with a salary up to £45,000pa dependent on experience, and excellent opportunities for career progression within this growing organisation.
