We are looking for an enthusiastic Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our Community Diabetes Specialist Team based in Wokingham working across Berkshire West.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
As a Diabetes Specialist Nurse, you will provide expert care across various clinical areas, including:
* Managing complex caseload
* Emerging therapies
* Prescribing relevant therapy
* Flash Glucose Monitoring and Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems (CGMS)
* Line management and clinical supervision of Band 6 DSNs
* Upskilling primary care HCPs

Person specification
Education/Qualifications/Training
* Registered Nurse – Level 1
* NMC Registration
* Post qualifying Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience (or currently undertaking).
* Teaching and Assessing Qualification e.g., ENB 998, or equivalent
* Further recognised training in diabetes care e.g., ENB 928 or equivalent
* Evidence of further professional qualification/development in Diabetes Care to master’s level or equivalent
* Independent and Supplementary Prescribing Qualification
* XPERT accredited facilitator
* Community qualification
* Management or leadership qualification
* Counselling qualification
* CGMS
Previous Experience
* Minimum 5 years post registration experience
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as Diabetes Specialist Nurse
* Experience of audit/research /project management
* Experience of autonomous & multi-disciplinary working
* Experience of training nurses and other health professionals
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Ability to manage information, write reports and processes.
* Able to use keyboard and demonstrate computer skills. E.g., PowerPoint, databases, Word
* Ability to provide undergraduate student supervision and clinical education to graduate and post graduate level.
* Demonstrable understanding of use and place of technology within diabetes management.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Analytical reporting and problem-solving skills
* Ability to negotiate, influence, challenge and change practice
* Evidence of use of research, evaluation, and audit.
