Role Description Role Title: Application Technician Department: IT Location: Witney or Remote Reports to: Lead Application Technician Working hours: 35 hours (9am to 5pm with 1hr lunch) Engagement: Full time Role Purpose Application Technician providing a key role in developing the document suites and configuration for the Epic and Acturis insurance broking applications across multiple entities, in a rapidly changing IT environment. Role Responsibilities Manage the internal helpdesk, ensuring that items are logged and resolved in a timely, priority-based manner. Work with Key members of the business to gather the correct requirements needed. Work with the Lead Application Technician and the business to deliver excellent customer service, effective response times and to provide expert insight into application document and configuration issues. Maintain the configuration of Acturis/Applied Epic. Maintain accurate system configuration records, in line with changes made Develop documents to the correct detail level of the requirements received. Identify trends in items raised and assess whether they are the result of a wider issue, a training need or a development suggestion. Provide support with the development of internal IT procedures to the business. To act as a liaison between the business and the Lead Application Technician. Actively participate in projects, where necessary, established to deliver key business initiatives. Evaluate existing business processes and seek areas to improve operational efficiency including the introduction of automation and workflow Maintaining departmental documentation Dealing efficiently and effectively with colleagues and third parties - keeping accurate and complete records of the same Attend and participate in Team Meetings and any ad-hoc meetings where required Maintain an awareness of Information Security practices, reporting issues and concerns to the Lead Application Technician. Ongoing professional and team development Routine departmental duties. Knowledge and Experience Applied Epic or Acturis back-end knowledge required Experience using helpdesk systems Experience in a similar Application support or systems administration role Basic coding knowledge Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements within the world of insurance, for example GDPR, FCA & TCF desirable.
