About us
Salford Care Organisation is part of the Northern Care Alliance, one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. Salford is the place, which is taking bold, pioneering steps towards delivering a world class, fully integrated care system for adults. Home to the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, Greater Manchester Trauma Hospital and the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, Salford is improving care for some of the sickest patients in the region, and delivers a range of acute, community and primary care services and specialist services to Greater Manchester and beyond.
We are committed to supporting the recruitment and retention of our Social Work staff. It is recognised by the Trust that many experienced Social Work staff are currently likely to be employed by local government organisations, and to ensure there is clarity over terms and conditions of employment we offer National Joint Council Pay Scales to Social Workers we appoint, rather than NHS pay-scales. We have adopted the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment which is used for recognising continuous service regarding annual leave, sickness, and maternity for moves within Greater Manchester. In addition, we also recognise previous, continuous, national local government service regarding annual leave.
