What will this role achieve?
As leaders in our industry, we provide transport solutions for the UK&I Region of Pladis and work as a 3rd party distributor for key customers. It is crucial that we maintain our high standards. Drivers must operate legally, safely and ensure they portray a smart image, as they are the most direct contact with our customers.
It is for this reason that we provide drivers with smart uniforms, relevant PPE, and expect them to keep their vehicles in a condition in keeping with our dedication to safety and quality. On the road we expect our drivers to conduct themselves in a professional manner showing courtesy and good manners to all road users.
What will be your key deliverables?
1. Provide a professional, consistent and timely driving service for Pladis.
2. Undertake vehicle checks prior to leaving the depot and where needed at 3rd party locations. Refuel, wash and report any defects on return to the site.
3. Complete all relevant documentation as required, e.g. delivery notes, pallet notes, offload notes, defect reports.
4. Communicate any delays, rejected orders, discrepancies to the confirmations department.
5. Follow legislation concerning drivers hours and vehicle maintenance to ensure operations conform to O licence requirements.
6. Drive in a professional manner, following the highway code and with due regard to the safety of self and others in order to minimise accidents and vehicle damage and to promote a professional company image.
7. Report all accidents and near misses.
8. Maintain the security of the vehicle and load at all times.
9. Undertake shunting duties at factories and on-site as required.
