An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Stroke ESD Team as a Therapy assistant. Our team work with people following a stroke within their own home and community settings. The post holder will have the opportunity to gain experience in working with Stroke patients alongside our team of Occupational therapists and Physiotherapists. You will be able to deliver individual treatment plans under the direction of our therapists.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active individual who has experience working with therapists and/ or individuals who have neurological conditions. We desire a person with excellent communication skills and ability to assist people with activities of daily living.
You will have professional support for your Continued Professional Development from a qualified Therapist with clinical experience in working with people with neurological condition.

To deliver treatment plans and activities, as delegated by the Team Leader and progressing patients within agreed parameters.
To work with the Therapists to ensure delivery of the principles of patient centred care.
To be responsible and accountable for the quality and standard and safety of own work and to achieve the levels of competency required by the role.
To help patients to continue with their treatment programmes and therapeutic activities as delegated by a qualified Therapist.
Have own delegated case load or take on a specific area of work eg exercise class, sensory rehab. Can progress patients under agreed parameters.
To feedback to the Therapist regarding the patient's progress, or any concerns.
To ensure that all documentation relating to their clinical involvement with patients (electronic or paper) adheres to AHP and Trust standards.
To manage their delegated workload effectively, with support and guidance from the Therapist.
To be responsible for the safe use of equipment that they use during treatment.
