The trust is looking to recruit an Operational Estates Decontamination Unit Manager, responsible for engineering and building maintenance. This includes first-line day-to-day management responsibility for providing an efficient, effective, and patient-focused maintenance and repair service within the allocated budgets, using Directly Employed Labour (DEL) and Contractors, who are involved in the upkeep of the buildings, engineering systems, roadways, footpaths, and grounds at the designated site(s).
Acts as Authorised Person/Responsible Officer in relation to specific maintenance responsibilities e.g. decontamination, medical gases, specialised ventilation, electrical safety, and water safety. Maintains, operates, and reviews Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programmes and through the implementation of suitable operational work plans ensures that buildings, plant, and equipment are maintained to the appropriate NHS and statutory standards.
Continually reviews and revises operational procedures and working practices, managing the Queensway Sterile Services Department team of 3 Engineers carrying out routine decontamination equipment and building service maintenance. Systems include Washer/Disinfectors, Trolley Washers, Steam Sterilisers (Autoclaves), RO System, Steam Generators, Heating and Cooling, Ventilation, LV Power, and Back Up Generator.
