The Estates team at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust are excited to announce that they are looking to add a Permit Officer to join their existing dedicated team.
You will be responsible for the day management of the electronic permit system, and ensuring requests are processed within an agreed timeframe to help ensure the effective delivery of capital, and planned and reactive works.

You will require a good working knowledge and experience with permit systems, processes and procedures and be able to interpret, process and coordinate the permit requests.
You will be working closely with the capital and estates teams to ensure that the requests are reviewed and actioned effectively.
You will be required to demonstrate good communication/interpersonal skills to work with all teams across the wider EFCD teams as well as with external parties.
You will be responsible for ensuring all permit records are managed appropriately to demonstrate the safe and compliant management of engineering activities on site.
Aptitudes and skills required.
Essential criteria
• Must have a strong focus on quality, safety and customer service
• Good written and verbal communication, especially on technical matters
• Must be capable of negotiating with and presenting to, line professionals within and outside the NHS
• Must be able to work on own initiative with limited supervision/direction
• Must have; or obtain a current driving license within 6 months to enable prompt attendance across University Hospital Southampton buildings in emergencies
