Cornish Lithium is looking for a Site Technician to join our Lithium in Geothermal Waters team. The successful candidate would be responsible for the operation, maintenance and inspection of Process Plant, safely and effectively, under the direction of the Lead Technician.
The successful candidate will:
1. Raise repair and maintenance requests, deliver Work Orders for repairs/breakdowns and planned maintenance. Carry out inspection and testing requirements and ensure that equipment is only used when it is within certification.
2. Responsible for understanding and meeting the requirements of relevant risk assessments and systems (ie COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, etc.) prior to operating & maintaining plant and equipment. Able to prepare Risk Assessments for site activities.
3. Review and understand operating procedures, prior to plant operations. Modify procedures when requested to do so as process conditions / equipment changes.
4. Operate chemical and process equipment within safe operating envelope. Notify Process Engineer should process conditions change, requiring a change to the operating envelope of the plant or system.
5. Be aware of, and operate within, permit / isolations requirements for maintenance and modifications activities.
6. Where requested by the Lead Technician manage/supervise contractors and ensure that they have the required isolations, access and lifting gear, and are competent and able to carry out their activities in a safe manner.
7. Provide technical support at construction and exploration drilling sites.
8. Inspect and compile equipment certificates for deployment to sites.
9. Troubleshoot and remedy on/off site equipment failures. Report within CMMS.
10. Take an active part in compiling shift operating reports, carrying out sampling / labelling, basic analyses (ie, pH, conductivity, etc.) and inventory assessments.
11. Report any problems or irregularities which are outside your control to the Lead Technician.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. 2-5 years experience in chemical process plant, water treatment or similar industries.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within small multi-disciplinary teams.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Proactive self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative, within competence area.
5. Mobile Plant (telehandler/forklift truck) trained and certified.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. OND/HND or equivalent qualification in a technical or engineering discipline.
2. Knowledge of various safety regulations applicable to site requirements, such as (but not limited to); H&S at Work Act (1974), Mine & Quarries Act (2014), Quarry Regs (1999), Confined Spaces Regs (1997), CDM (2015), Control of Noise at Work Regs (2005), COSHH (2002), LOLER (1998), PSSR (2000), RIDDOR (2013), Working at Height Regs (2005).
3. Experience in operating continuous operating chemical or process plant and equipment.

The role will be based at the Company’s Lithium in Geothermal Waters Plant, United Road, Redruth, Cornwall, TR16 5HY. Annual leave comprises 25 days’ holiday per year pro rata, plus UK Bank Holidays. The closing date for applications is 28th February 2025.
