Rate of Pay: £34.13 - £44.49 per Hour
Summary:
The Children with Disabilities Team is responsible for managing cases of children on Child Protection and Child in Need plans, as well as children in the care of the local authority. These children are among the most vulnerable in the authority and require expert intervention and oversight.
We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to provide leadership and support to a team of dedicated social workers, ensuring that children receive the highest level of care and protection. The role involves overseeing complex cases, chairing strategy meetings, supervising staff, and managing key operational aspects of the team.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and support a team of 7 social workers, ensuring high-quality case management.
* Provide supervision and guidance to all team members, ensuring professional development and adherence to policies.
* Oversee complex cases, including care proceedings and safeguarding concerns.
* Conduct strategy meetings with the police and multi-agency professionals.
* Manage complaints, capabilities, and sickness procedures within the team.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
* Social Work England (SWE) Registration.
* Management qualification (desirable but not essential).
Experience:
* Proven experience in childrens social care, particularly with Children with Disabilities.
* Strong background in managing social work teams within a local authority setting.
* Experience in supervising social workers and overseeing casework.
* Knowledge and experience of court proceedings, child protection, and care planning.
