Brownlow Fold Primary School is a larger than average primary school situated in an area of deprivation in the Halliwell Ward of Bolton. Our school is over-subscribed, popular, and well-regarded, with a strong partnership between parents/carers, pupils, staff, governors, and the local community. Our vision, core aims, and values emphasise this collaboration, which is reflected in our mission statement: "Together We Fly".
The Headteacher and Governors of this popular school wish to appoint a strong, inspirational and transformational leader to support the headteacher and staff to inspire future generations. A typical school day may require you as a leader to move from decision maker to teammate, to coach, to teacher, to problem solver, navigating through a range of roles as each demand arises. An ability to shift and adjust leadership approach based on what is needed in school on any given day will be an integral component of the deputy head teacher role.
Learning at Brownlow Fold encompasses helping our children to develop their interests and abilities, providing valuable learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Our ethos is characterised by high expectations and aspirations for all. We are committed to achieving high standards for all pupils in order that they can attain the highest levels of achievement and personal development.
A school leader’s role continues to increase in complexity with reviews of current curriculum and assessment models, changes to the Ofsted inspection toolkits, community-wide approaches to improving inclusivity and SEND provision and reduced budgets to name but a few.
This position is a great opportunity for a leader who loves a challenge and wants to further their career and be an integral part of refining current practice so that the governments proposed changes are successfully implemented.
Brownlow Fold offers you:
* A popular school in the heart of a multicultural community;
* Excellent professional development, support and bespoke leadership coaching;
* Happy, caring children who are eager to learn;
* An enthusiastic and dedicated team, determined to enable every child to succeed;
* Supportive parents and a committed Governing body;
We are looking for someone who is able to:
* Provide strategic leadership and vision to drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning;
* Ensure the effective implementation of the curriculum, monitoring and evaluating its impact;
* Maintain high standards of behaviour and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment;
* Support the Headteacher in leading and managing the school, including staff development and performance management;
* Analyse and use data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions;
* Engage with parents, carers, and the wider community to strengthen partnerships and support pupil outcomes;
* Inspire and excite children, staff and parents with creative approaches to teaching and learning;
* Share and utilise the passions and interests you have to meet the needs of our children and help them ‘think outside the box’;
* Commit to working with the Brownlow Fold team to secure our long-term goals;
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils and families and to contribute to the long-term success of our school. If you share our passion for enabling all children to reach their full potential, we would love to hear from you.
An informal visit to the school is encouraged and warmly welcomed. We recommend that visits take place during the school day then you are able to meet the children and staff and get a real flavour of what life at Brownlow Fold is like. Please contact Mrs L. Vickers, School Business Manager on tel: 01204 333511 or email: vickersl@brownlow-fold.bolton.sch.uk, to arrange.
