We have an exciting opportunity to join our adult Speech and Language Therapy team at University Hospital of Wales. This post is based on the acute Major Trauma wards at the University Hospital of Wales. This role will involve supporting a specialist SLT caseload across the following wards: Polytrauma, Neuroscience and Spinal Injury. This role is a static full time post. It will also involve supporting weekend working. You will receive excellent leadership and supervision support within this role both from the Major Trauma team/network as well as the acute Speech Therapy team to ensure that we offer opportunities for professional development and career progression. Main duties of the job We are looking for a SLT with relevant professional qualifications and experience to join the acute SLT team. You should have experience of working with a wide range of communication and swallowing difficulties, be a good team player and able to organise your time effectively. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic person who will have the resilience to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment. You will be required to work effectively in collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams, including other health professionals to promote the development, planning and delivery of intervention programmes and training in the specialist clinical area. The adult SLT service at Cardiff & Vale is a innovative and friendly service with Clinical Lead SLTs providing robust support and supervision. Participation in service projects and audits is encouraged. You will be expected to cover weekend working rota. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
