An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Delivery Suite Co-ordinator to join the Maternity Team at Wirral Women and Children's Hospital.
Wirral Women and Children's Hospital provides care for approximately 3,300 low and high-risk women per year, encompassed within the unit is a Level 3 Unit for Neonatal Services, Children's Services and Women's Unit.

Main duties of the job
The Delivery Suite Co-ordinator will become part of an established team of Band 7 midwives.
Their role includes shift leading on the main Delivery Suite area, the alongside Midwifery Led Unit (Eden Suite), the Induction of Labour bay (Harmony Suite) and Maternity Triage or working in the midwifery numbers on the delivery suite on a shift by shift basis.
The successful candidate will work leading teams of rotational midwives and support staff that work across the maternity unit each shift, working closely with the multidisciplinary teams across maternity to provide safe, high quality care.
You will work closely with the Delivery Suite Manager to provide management support for the effective running of the Delivery Suite and providing leadership and clinical care in Maternity Triage.
Out of hours the Co-ordinator will hold the maternity bleep and manage unit acuity and staffing across maternity.

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have an Enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 months.
As this vacancy is within the division of Women's and Children's, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
* Registered Midwife
* Evidence of study at Level 6
* Evidence of ongoing development
* Broad experience of midwifery practice with desire to work on delivery suite
* Completion of mentorship course
* Evidence of study at Level 7
* Evidence of working in all areas with recent delivery suite experience
Knowledge and Skills
* Good interpersonal/communication and listening skills
* Possess advanced clinical skills in relation to intrapartum care
* Proven ability to shift co-ordinate with competence and confidence
* Venepuncture and cannulation skills
* Knowledge and experience of Trust policies
* Audit and research skills
* Knowledge of issues relating to human resource management
