Premises Officer - Grade 7:Birkett House is an extremely popular and successful all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties. We are a multi-sited school in South Leicestershire. The main school site is in Wigston, and we also have inclusion units at Thistly Meadow Primary School (Blaby), Little Hill Primary School (Wigston), Thomas Estley Community College (Broughton Astley) and a purpose-built Senior Department based in Countesthorpe. Job Information:We are currently looking for a Premises Officer to be based at our main site which is a new build in Wigston, with some responsibility for our Senior Site based at Countesthorpe. We are looking for someone who is capable with all manner of power tools, not afraid of heights and competent at assessing jobs in school. We need someone who is passionate about doing jobs right and working to a high quality. You will work alongside our Site Manager liaising with contractors, suppliers and external lettings in their absence. There is a morning cleaning schedule with this role and a need to ensure hygiene products across school are regularly filled. You will need to be self-motivated and proactive in looking for jobs to complete. You will have statutory responsibilities to the buildings under the care of the Site Manager and must have a keen understanding of the importance of keeping excellent records and being able to reproduce these at the request of statutory bodies. You must have a driving license and a willingness to drive minibuses for school business (training will be provided if necessary). Please also be aware that there is a lot of manual handling with this role.Contract type: Full time. 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks. 22 days holidays + 8 concessionary holidays. Contract term: Permanent Salary: Grade 7, (points 11-14) £25,998 - £27,273.Working hours: 7am-3pm, with flexibility to cover the Site Manager on a split shift basis when necessary
