AHP Clinical and Professional Lead for Speech & Language Therapist
We have an opportunity to offer a 12 month internal secondment in the AHP Leadership Team supporting the Planned and Preventative Care pathway. Our team offers clinical and professional direction to the pathway which includes, Community Therapy Service, Respiratory, Physical Disability Physiotherapy Service (PDPS), Adult Speech and Language Therapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Post COVID Rehabilitation Service, ME/CFS, Care Home Support.
We are looking for a forward thinking, dynamic, compassionate AHP to join our leadership team with a professional qualification and HCPC registration in Speech and Language Therapy.
Main duties of the job
This post will work closely with the Nursing Clinical Leads, Operational Managers, Heads of Service and Associate Director for AHPs, the existing AHP leadership team and AHP clinicians to improve effectiveness and standards of patient care.

Job responsibilities
If you are an internal candidate please ensure that you discuss your application with your line manager before applying for the secondment to ensure that it would be supported. Professional leadership through the development, delivery, and evaluation of Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetic, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy paramedic and podiatry services as appropriate to the pathway and services across the community services directorate depending on the post holders professional discipline. Clinical leadership for all AHPs within their Integrated Locality Teams.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Experience as a registered senior Allied Health Professional across a range of settings in physical health. Organisational /Time management / Prioritisation. Highly developed communication skills. Proven Leadership Skills. Experience of caseload management. Experience of promoting diversity and equality of opportunity. Operational and Resource management skills.
* Experience within the clinical field of Mental Health. Experience of Multidisciplinary team leadership.
Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree /MSc in a SLT. HCPC registrant. Relevant Post Graduate courses. Extensive knowledge of other AHP professions and community services. Involvement in service development.
* Management qualification or in process of application/completion. Previous employment within the NHS. Practice educators.
Experience
* Appropriate clinical experience and credibility in own profession and relevant clinical area.
Personal Qualities
* Flexibility and adaptability to change. Positive attitude to challenge. Able to prioritise and plan. Fitness to perform manual handling and rehabilitation activities. Reliable. Willingness to learn. Interest in clinical specialism. Team worker.
Contractual
* Reliable work record. Enhanced DBS clearance. Evidence that personal behaviour reflects Trust Values. Car driver/owner essential.
