The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Wednesday 8am-4pm. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced health care support worker to join our hydrotherapy service. NHS GGC hydrotherapy service provides specialist aquatic rehabilitation to adults with a range of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Aquatic rehabilitation is delivered in a purpose-built warm water hydrotherapy pool. Our patient group often have high levels of disability and disease activity and are unable to tolerate land-based rehabilitation. Rheumatology, MSK, Orthopaedics and Neurology are the main source of referrals. The post is based within the Royal Alexandra Hospital, however there is flexibility to work at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where there is also a hydrotherapy service.
The primary function of this role will be to work within the hydrotherapy department alongside aquatic physiotherapists to deliver aquatic rehabilitation interventions that promote independence and well-being.
You will:
1. Assist qualified physiotherapists with the delivery and implementation of individual and group patient treatment programmes in the hydrotherapy pool.
2. Carry your own caseload, accepting patients from the aquatic physiotherapists.
3. Support the safe and effective running of the hydrotherapy department by carrying out housekeeping duties and clerical work including stock monitoring and ordering.
