Job Description:
Accounts and Tax position within a well established and reputable accountancy practice, with multiple locations across the UK.
This particular office is based in Tunbridge Wells, where they are looking to employ an ambitious individual, ideally fully qualified, and experienced managing accounts and tax.
Accounts and Tax Manager Position Overview
1. Managing a portfolio of clients, leading client meetings and advising clients on various accounting and tax matters
2. Review Accounts and Tax Returns to ensure they meet HMRC and Companies House standards
3. Dealing with work allocation and prioritisation with Tax preparers to ensure good quality output and timely progress
4. Promoting and ensuring quality control of outgoing correspondence and tax returns in terms of style, spelling, layout and technical competence
5. Review team files to ensure all standards, quality and compliance requirements are met and issues identified
6. Hold responsibility for client relationships up to £200k of revenue to ensure the best possible value, advice and quality and compliance for clients
7. Assisting where required with the Company's end of year reporting process for clients - typically these are P11Ds, Form 42, ATED returns if relevant. These are primarily drafted by the Tax preparers.
8. Ensure that all discussions, deadlines, and actions for client are delivered
9. Drive efficiency and profitability in standards and service using best practice through technology
10. Create and maintain strong and long-lasting relationships with clients, Directors, and staff
11. Contribute to a high performing culture where people live the vision, mission and values
12. Ensure client work complies with all legal and ethical standards and statutory regulations
13. Set performance measures, review performance, and take effective action to improve when off track
14. Be a strong role model for the organisations values and standards to develop a high-performance culture
15. Develop and maintain the highest standards of technical knowledge and expertise for self and others
16. Develop the team ensuring the voice of the team is heard
17. Provide industry leading insights, solutions, and advice to build the firm's reputation and client base.
Accounts and Tax Manager Position Requirements
1. Portfolio management of accounts and tax work at a practice
2. Client relationship development and maintenance
3. Experience with accountancy software suites
4. Audit / independent examination experience preferred but not required
5. Good knowledge of accounting software - Ideally Xero and Sage
6. Qualified Accountant - ICAEW or ACCA
7. Part qualified with relevant experience will be considered
Accounts and Tax Manager Position Remuneration
1. £50-55k salary range, depending on experience
