We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chemistry Teacher to join a dynamic Science department at a welcoming school in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons and inspire students to explore the fascinating world of chemical science. The role covers Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level), and offers the opportunity to shape the future of students in one of the most engaging STEM subjects.
As a Chemistry Teacher, you will provide a stimulating learning environment, helping students develop their practical, theoretical, and analytical skills in preparation for exams and future careers in science and related fields. This role begins September 2025.
Duties as a Chemistry Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Chemistry lessons for GCSE and A-Level students.
* Provide hands-on, practical learning experiences to support theoretical concepts and encourage scientific curiosity.
* Foster a love for Chemistry by making complex concepts accessible and relevant to students.
* Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing targeted interventions where necessary.
* Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all students, including SEND and EAL learners.
* Maintain a positive and high-expectation classroom environment.
* Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods.
* Provide support and guidance to students in preparing for exams and planning their academic and career pathways.
* Participate in extracurricular activities such as Science clubs, trips, and STEM-related initiatives.
Ideal Chemistry Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
* Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Chemistry (desirable, but not essential for ECTs).
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for making Chemistry engaging and accessible.
* Excellent classroom management skills with high expectations for student achievement.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children as a Chemistry Teacher.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
