This term-time-only role is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, working in partnership with both our teaching and administration staff. The post will suit someone with a natural enthusiasm and ability to engage with young people. To be successful, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be calm, confident, resilient and empathic.
Previous experience is not necessary, as you will be given a full induction and training programme; however, an understanding of working with children and safeguarding policies is desired.
Full- or part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate. An 8.30am start is essential.
We are a mixed 11–18 (11–16 from September 2025) non-selective converter academy with approximately 835 students. Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools. This is the start of a new era for Uplands and an excellent time to join our thriving rural school.
We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy and for the experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff that teach them, allowing teachers to teach and students to learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.
