We are looking to appoint a confident, flexible and highly organised individual to join our dedicated team of Cover Supervisors. The role requires providing short-term lesson and registration cover for class teachers in Years 7–11, ad-hoc administrative tasks throughout the school and break/lunchtime supervision when required.
This term-time only role is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, working in partnership with both our teaching and administration staff. The post will suit someone with a natural enthusiasm and ability to engage with young people. To be successful, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be calm, confident, resilient and empathic.
Previous experience is not necessary, as you will be given a full induction and training programme; however, an understanding of working with children and safeguarding policies is desired.
Full- or part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate. An 8.20am start is essential.
Beacon Academy is a split-site, semi-rural, mixed 11–18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 1,664 students, including over 320 students in our Sixth Form. We are situated centrally in Crowborough on the outskirts of the Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close to Tunbridge Wells and the South Coast. The vast majority of our staff travel to Beacon from a variety of locations within the southeast, including Brighton, Eastbourne, Lewes and Tunbridge Wells.
In September 2022, Beacon Academy, together with Uplands Academy in Wadhurst, became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the Trust are m otivated, a mbitious, r esourceful, and k nowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools.
We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for our students and for the experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff that teach them, allowing teachers to teach and students to learn. MARK Education Trust is committed to the development of both its staff and students.
