Are you passionate about improving traffic flow, tackling congestion, and making our roads safer?
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking for a Highways Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in shaping the city’s transport network.
What You’ll Do
1. Keep the city moving by delivering the Network Management Duty under Section 16 of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
2. Develop innovative solutions to tackle traffic congestion, speeding, parking issues, and highway safety concerns.
3. Improve road safety through strategic traffic management and environmental initiatives.
4. Manage and maintain the Authority’s Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), ensuring legal compliance and effective enforcement.
5. Work on exciting, high-impact projects that enhance transport efficiency and safety across the city.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience in traffic management, highways, or transport engineering.
2. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to tackling network issues.
3. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Traffic Management Act 2004 and Traffic Regulation Orders.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, solution-focused environment.
