Position Summary:
As a Territory Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding both existing and potential accounts within the Midlands or North territory. Your primary focus will be on promoting laboratory equipment and consumables across clinical, academic, and private sectors.
You will work toward achieving your regional target while delivering excellent service to customers and continuously enhancing your product knowledge. Strong communication skills, the ability to adapt, and a strong drive to succeed in overcoming challenges are essential for this role.
Given the nature of the position, a valid driver's license and personal car are required for regular travel within your designated region.
Key Responsibilities:
To be successful in this role, the individual must be able to:
* Organize and conduct regular meetings with new and existing clients to promote products (including cold calling)
* Create and send quotes to customers
* Follow up on quotes to secure business
* Provide accurate product information from various sources to address customer inquiries and recommend suitable products
* Collaborate with team members and internal departments (e.g., Calibre Scientific business units, Customer Service, Internal Sales) to share information, respond to technical queries, and communicate market and product details
* Participate in regular team sales meetings
* Plan and attend exhibitions
* Assist in completing tenders
* Analyse sales data and trends, producing reports to monitor margins and identify areas of growth or decline (these reports may be requested by management and Product Specialists)
* Maintain and update the company CRM system to ensure accurate records of customer interactions and meetings
Requirements:
* Experience: Proven track record in sales or account management, ideally within the laboratory, scientific, or healthcare sector. Experience in promoting and selling equipment or consumables is highly desirable.
* Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively. Ability to adapt to different customer needs and overcome obstacles.
* Product Knowledge: A good understanding of laboratory equipment and consumable products is an advantage, with the willingness to quickly learn and stay updated on new products.
* Drive & Motivation: Self-motivated, results-driven, and focused on achieving sales targets. Strong organizational skills to manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently.
* Technical Ability: Comfortable using CRM systems and sales tools. Ability to analyse data and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Travel: Full, clean driving license and access to your own vehicle, as regular travel within the assigned region is required.
* Education: A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, engineering) essential.
