Professional Services - Solution Architect
Do you want to use your IT knowledge and experience to be a part of a high performing team of GIS professionals and make a real difference to our world? Apply today to join our growing Professional Services team as a Solution Architect and you will have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest public and private sector organisations in the UK.
We offer a great package (starting from circa £60k+ rising with experience, plus a performance-based bonus of up to 20%) and are flexible about where you work (within the UK). Full and part time applications welcomed.
As a Solution Architect, you will work within an industry-focused practice team and be responsible for designing and delivering a wide range of technical solutions to benefit our customers. Working across a variety of different projects you will support the successful implementation and deployment of the latest geospatial and enterprise technologies.
Your key responsibilities as a Solution Architect will be to:
* Work closely with our customers to understand their business: Conveying how GIS technology can help solve their business challenges and the potential benefits.
* Technical Design: Use your IT and GIS platform architecture experience to design and deliver scalable, commercially viable solutions based on the latest cloud patterns.
* Identify Opportunities: Help identify new opportunities and business areas where geospatial technology, data and workflows can add further value to our customers’ businesses.
* Innovate: Lead and deliver innovative projects, giving you an opportunity to use the latest technology and explore key technology trends (real-time GIS, IoT, big data analytics, geodesign, Artificial Intelligence, 3D and digital twins).
* Provide Technical Leadership: Help guide and mentor our technical staff and contribute to the broader technical strategy within our business. You will promote GIS and technology internally and externally and be able to actively engage both technical and non-technical people.
This would be a great career move if you:
* Have a track-record of successfully building great relationships with customers, internal project teams and other internal departments.
* Enjoy solution architecture, working on many projects and opportunities, varying between a generalist and a specialist according to your background.
* Have significant, hands-on experience in the design, configuration, and deployment of GIS enterprise systems.
* Have a deep knowledge of databases, web applications, integration, software engineering, networks, cloud architectures, disaster recovery and high availability.
* Are comfortable with GIS technologies and geospatial data. Experience of designing Esri geospatial solutions is preferred, but detailed knowledge of ArcGIS is not essential for this role.
* Understand security principles and practices, such as a working knowledge of firewalls, zero-trust and SAML.
* Are familiar with automation, Azure DevOps, Notebooks and Serverless deployment patterns.
* Are comfortable with our REST APIs and designing solutions that use them.
* Have experience in either Utilities, Public Safety or Defence sectors (preferred but not required).
Because of the types of data and clients we work with, all our positions require successful candidates to hold or to undergo and achieve government security clearance. For some clearances you must have been resident in the UK for 10 years.
