The Student Development Officer works with the Student Development team and across the school to support the planning and delivery of cohort building activities. Working closely with the Student Development Manager and academic staff you will deliver tailored workshops, subject-specific opportunities, awards, and practical learning to boost employability. The role also includes coaching students (training will be provided). Additionally, you will lead on the coordination of recruitment and allocation of work to approximately 150 tutors in the School, collaborating with various School teams (HR, Teaching Offices, Postgraduate Research offices) as well as the Director of Tutoring and the tutors themselves to ensure tutoring needs are met and responsibilities are clear. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure and consistently delivers excellent, timely support to both students and staff.

Excellent written and oral communication, including adept presentation skills
Resourcefulness and ability to use initiative whether working autonomously or collaboratively
Excellent all-round computing skills (including MS Word, spreadsheets, email, website)
Self-motivated with desire to learn new skills and develop as a professional (i.e. coaching, finance systems, tutor and demonstrator policies, P&M systems)
This post is fixed term from January 2025 to 31 December 2025 to provide maternity cover.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
The salary for this post is £33,882 to £39,105 per annum.
We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combine a mix of remote (within the UK) and regular on-campus working, however a majority of working hours will be campus and office based.
