Junior Fabric Buyer (Freelance)
Location: Hammersmith, London
Position Type: Freelance (part-time, 3 days a week)
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Fabric Buyer to support the Fabric
department at Victoria Beckham. As a member of the team, you will play a vital role in the
sourcing and buying of seasonal fabrics that align with the brands creative direction and
business objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Fabric Developer & Buyer
and Senior Print Designer, as well as wider teams to ensure the seamless delivery of RTW
fabrics across all product categories.
Responsibilities:
* Provide general administrative support to the Victoria Beckham Fabric Department.
* Support in sourcing fabric qualities that align with the seasonal brief and adhere to
budgetary constraints and quality standards.
* Generating Purchase Orders for Seasonal and Special Project fabric orders.
* PO tracking and management; ensure POs are generated and completed in a timely
manner to warrant alignment with supplier payment terms.
* Maintaining all internal systems and trackers with accurate information updates.
* Liaise with internal Atelier & Production teams and external warehouse(s) to monitor
fabric inventory levels and proactively address any requests or discrepancies.
* Support in communicating with wider teams including Design & Merchandising to
effectively respond to specific fabric requirements, requests and preferences.
* Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with reputable fabric suppliers
to ensure timely deliveries in accordance with the company critical path.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Buying & Merchandising, Business
Administration, or a related field.
* Prior experience or internships in fabric sourcing, procurement, or a related area
within the fashion industry is preferred.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to foster strong
relationships with our suppliers and internal teams.
* A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of fabric qualities and their
suitability for different product types.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Adobe Suite & PLM software a bonus).
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple
tasks and deadlines effectively.
