Main duties of the job
Applications are welcomed for enthusiastic and well-motivated Trust Doctors (Senior SHO Level) in Trauma and Orthopaedics post based at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust to commence as soon as possible, subject to pre-employment checks.
The department consists of 8 consultants providing elective and emergency care. The SHO workforce forms an essential part of the delivery of high-quality care and augments the middle grade structure around both training and service needs for both tiers. The main responsibility of this post will be the best care for elective patients, although there will be an additional expectation of theatre attendance and opportunity for clinic experience.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration and should possess the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, have good interpersonal skills, and have a caring attitude towards patients and evidence of good clinical practice.

Clinical responsibilities
* Routine ward duties and rounds with consultants on the elective Orthopaedic ward.
* Clerking of new patients.
* Ensuring all elective Orthopaedic patients are tracked through their pathway.
* Ensuring all post-operative x-rays are requested, TTOs and discharge summaries are completed to facilitate discharge.
Core responsibilities
* Communicate and work collaboratively with all members of the surgical team.
* Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and relatives about all aspects of their clinical care.
* Maintain legible and accurate documentation in the clinical records.

* Evidence of Good Practical skills
* Full GMC Registration

* Able to make sound clinical judgements

Qualification and Professional Training
