TeacherActive are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a thriving Secondary School based in South Glos. The school is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will work with students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who have a range of special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to achieve their full potential. This is a long-term full time role and is to start ASAP. The role does have the potential to go permanent for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
- Work collaboratively with subject teachers, teaching assistants, and the SENCO to support student learning and progress.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and other learning strategies to address the unique needs of each student.
- Provide targeted support in both small groups and 1:1 settings, ensuring students are engaged, motivated, and making progress.
- Maintain clear communication with parents/carers and external agencies, fostering a strong partnership to support students' development.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice.
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly in a secondary school environment.
- Knowledge of a wide range of learning difficulties, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, patient, and flexible attitude with a passion for supporting young people.
