Intermediate Care is looking to recruit a full time Nurse Ward/Team Manager (Registered Nurse on the NMC register or Registered AHP on the HCPC register.
Intermediate Care Units provide short term care for patients who require inpatient support, ongoing care and rehabilitation prior to returning home.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and passionate individual. The post holder will work be required to travel across our three intermediate sites Rye Hospital, Bexhill Irvine and Eastbourne Milton Grange.
You will need to provide strong leadership, possess excellent communication skills and be able to develop and support staff with clinical and professional expertise. You will also be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising standards of care and professionalism.
You must also have advanced clinical knowledge and skills, be willing to participate in research and audit projects and will also be expected to work with a certain amount of autonomy. You must be a 1st level Registered Nurse with significant experience at Band 6 Sister /Charge Nurse level or a registered AHP on the HCPC register with team leader/management experience. The ENB 998/mentorship level 3 is essential as is an awareness of the current professional, research and practice issues and an understanding of modern human resource management.
The Nurse Ward/Team Manager will promote the vision and values of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust,
leading by example and ensuring that they demonstrate those values in their leadership behaviours and how we support our teams and deliver our services The Nurse Ward/Team Manager will assess patients, plan, develop and implement programmes of care, including complex patient care needs and provide health promotion information and specialist advice. This may include liaison with other agencies and health providers to ensure effective programmes of care and discharge.
The Nurse Ward/Team Manager will have the knowledge and skills to provide clinical and managerial supervision and support the education and training of other staff, students and learners The Nurse Team Leader will provide clinical and managerial leadership and management to nursing and support staff, ensuring the effective running of the ward/clinical area. This will include managing a budget, managing and supporting people and effective rostering and resource management.
Line management responsibilities will be dependent upon role and specialist area of work
