Facilities Manager / School Premises Manager who has a good standard of maintenance and DIY experience within an understanding of health and safety parameters, and has previous experience of building and site management is required for a College based in Leicester, Leicestershire, East Midlands.
SALARY: £37,938 to £40,476 per annum (depending on experience)
HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT: 25 days annual leave per annum, plus 8 bank holiday days (rising to 30 days per annum after 5 years’ service)
LOCATION: Leicester, Leicestershire, East Midlands
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week, Monday – Friday, shift pattern between the hours of 6am – 10pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, all year round. Occasionally you may be required to work on a weekend.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Facilities Manager / School Premises Manager who has a good standard of maintenance and DIY experience within an understanding of health and safety parameters, and has previous experience of building and site management.
This position is known within the College as a School Site Manager.
Working as the Facilities Manager / School Premises Manager you will be proactive and responsible for the maintenance and good working order of the school buildings and grounds, so that all students, staff and users have a comfortable, clean, safe and well-maintained environment to work in.
As the Facilities Manager / School Premises Manager you will ideally be able to demonstrate a high standard of premises management and customer care, as well as being a team player. Good communication skills are key, as well as being well organised and having an awareness of Health and Safety legislation and compliance (e.g. COSHH, Water Hygiene, Risk Assessments).
DUTIES
1. Management and development of all premises within the school
2. Managing the premises team to deliver a secure and compliant site
3. Supervision of school cleaning staff
4. Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes buildings and grounds
5. Promoting and prioritising health and safety for students, staff, volunteers, visitors and the wider community
6. All other aspects of site management, such as supervising external contractors, and site use and development planning
Your responsibilities also include:
1. Site security, opening and locking the site
2. Primary key holder for the site
3. Alarm call outs
4. Ensure the school and its grounds are kept clean and litter free
5. Ensure the school maintains health and safety requirements
6. Routine repair and maintenance tasks
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1. A good level of literacy and numeracy
2. Good standard of maintenance and DIY experience with an understanding of health and safety parameters
3. Experience of facilities management and working within an operational environment to provide day-to-day maintenance support
4. Have the necessary IT skills to enable you to perform the responsibilities of the post efficiently
5. Able to make decisions, using strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
6. Ability to prioritise and plan own and others workload
