BPAS is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Test Engineer to join our team. This is a part-time role for 15 hours per week, working remotely, with occasional travel to BPAS units. A detailed working pattern can be found below.
About the role
As a Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of the Booking and Client Administration Systems (BIS and CAS). You will develop and implement testing plans, collaborate with software engineers to resolve issues, and ensure system stability through rigorous testing processes.
This is a vital role within our team, helping to ensure the stability and effectiveness of our systems, which directly impact the quality of service we provide to clients.
About You:
To be successful at this role, you'll be a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for ensuring software quality.
You will also have an ability to multi-task, prioritise tasks effectively, and maintain detailed documentation.
Main duties of the job
* Creating and maintaining comprehensive test plans, covering full system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
* Defining and documenting standardised testing processes and ensuring thorough retesting of identified issues.
* Working closely with developers to document and resolve issues, ensuring software releases meet high-quality standards.
* Investigating and resolving urgent system issues reported by staff, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
* Assisting the Administration and Testing Lead with helpdesk duties and system troubleshooting.

Further Information:
Salary: £24,209 to £28,552 - pro-rata for part-time hours, depending upon skills and experience.
Working Hours:
Tuesday 12:00 - 17:00
Thursday 12:00 - 17:00
Location: Home based - attendance at head office when business needs requires - Leamington Spa, CV34 6RQ

Person Specification
Knowledge & Skills
* Understanding of GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and their application in the workplace.
* Strong grasp of system testing principles and best practices.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for collaboration with developers, stakeholders, and end-users.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to document test cases and results effectively.
Qualifications
* English and Maths qualification either GCSE A to C or Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE 4* or NVQ level 2.
Experience
* Experience working with Jira or similar ticketing systems.
* Familiarity with software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing approaches.
* Confident IT user, experienced with Microsoft Office and Windows environments.
