Here in Technology our mission is simple – deliver and maintain secure and stable IT services, maximising value to our business.
Dig a little deeper and you will find a living, breathing department of highly talented individuals and teams, buzzing with energy, ideas, and enthusiasm. Who are always interested in learning new, innovative and exciting ways for us to aid our business colleagues, and ultimately our customers' experience.
Collectively, we provide a critical national infrastructure to millions of customers in our region, so the only question is why wouldn't you want to be part of that?
If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this new role at Severn Trent, we’re looking for an experienced Salesforce Engineer who will support the stabilisation, integration, and continued maintenance for the application into our business. As an experienced Engineer in the field, you will get involved in the designing, creating, and managing of the software throughout its lifecycle.
As a technical engineer, you’ll analyse our user needs and requirements, making design recommendations, and coding or configuring solutions to achieve our ongoing business objectives. There will be close collaboration with our Enterprise & Solution Architects to ensure the future of the applications is fit for purpose.
Other key accountabilities include:
1. Provide customer service support by troubleshooting application issues and documenting root cause, keeping stakeholders always updated.
2. Ensure standard requests are completed for the business within SLA and small application changes are delivered in line with priorities, keeping business stakeholders updated.
3. Work with architects and other colleagues to ensure software upgrades are completed as required to keep applications in support and patched.
4. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and developers to design solutions that meet business requirements, including the E2E solution development lifecycle (SDLC).
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience, but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.
We’ll be looking for you to have proven experience working with Salesforce as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role, ideally in an ITIL environment. Due to the varied nature of the stakeholders you’ll be working with, having the ability to influence and negotiate will be beneficial along with knowledge of working in a customer-focused organisation.
We’ll want you to have a troubleshooting mindset and resourcefulness which will help you grow in the role. We want you to be a great problem solver with a drive to deliver on solutions as well as a continuous improvement and analytical nature, which will help you to identify application enhancements and improve business performance through analysis of incidents and problems.
Your attitude and drive to do a great job is as important as any experience you have.
We do more because we care.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.
With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite perks that you’ll get being part of the Severn Trent family:
* 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year)
* Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,250 per annum based on company performance)
* Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
