Job summary
The post holder is responsible for managing and advising on STP Pathology contracts to ensure the contracting party delivers the key contractual obligations. This will involve working closely with Divisions to understand the processes and context of the service.
Main duties of the job
o Support the PBU with contract drafting and set up of new commercial Accountable for providing advice and guidance to support development and production of contract strategy for the CA,o Initiate and implement appropriate systems, processeso Use expert knowledge and understanding to provide detailed and complex analysis of business Responsible for ensuring clarity around all lead and associate contract Responsible for contract development and contract finalisation,o Responsible for supporting Service Specification production and negotiation for inclusion within contract documentationo Responsible for providing contract negotiation supporto Responsible for providing contract dispute resolution support to reach mutually acceptable solutions to contract issueso Responsible for ensuring that contract management is supported by provider activity and invoice validation and data quality review

Education and qualifications
Essential
1. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL).
2. Evidence of continuous professional development
Knowledge
Essential
3. Specialist knowledge in writing and managing contracts
4. Understanding of national and local priorities.
5. Significant experience of health service and procurement systems.
Desirable
6. Demonstrate a sound understanding of the NHS including the political and business agenda.
7. Knowledge of NHS finance policy and NHS legislation.
8. Experience at Senior Management Level in an acute hospital within the NHS or other large complex multi professional organisation.
