Title: Director of Rooms
Compensation: $75k - $85k, bonus, relocation, and Temp housing.
We are looking for a Rooms and Guest Relations Director to create memorable experiences for our guests at our boutique mountain property in Virginia. This key leadership role involves managing all aspects of guest services to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for each visitor. You will oversee the front desk operations, guest relations team, and all related services, fostering a culture of outstanding hospitality and service excellence. Responsibilities include coordinating guest check-ins and check-outs, addressing guest complaints, and ensuring all hotel facilities are welcoming and in excellent condition. You will also implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and drive repeat business, as well as manage budgets and staff performance.
Responsibilities
* Manage budgets/expenses, analyze and interpret financial information and monitor sales and profits.
* Plan activities and allocate responsibilities to achieve the most efficient operational model.
* Communicate with customers when appropriate (welcome them in the facilities, address their complaints, find solutions to problems, offer information).
* Deal with maintenance issues, shortages in staff or equipment, renovations, etc.
* Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, travel agencies, event/conference planners, etc.
* Inspect facilities regularly and enforce strict compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as Rooms Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
* Strong understanding of hotel management best practices and relevant laws and regulations.
* Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
* Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team effectively.
* Proficient in MS Office applications; familiarity with hotel management software (PMS) is a plus.
* Ability to make informed decisions and resolve issues promptly.
* A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
