We are looking to recruit a Youth Worker to join our expanding Stronger Families Team. This multi-disciplinary team works closely with families who are facing significant challenges that may threaten their ability to stay together. Due to the team's success, we have recently received approval to grow our team. Our primary goal is to offer support in a reflective and holistic manner to help keep families united. The Stronger Families Team collaborates with a range of professionals, including social workers, educators, and the youth justice service. Our team is non-statutory and includes diverse roles such as parent and family workers, as well as youth workers. We provide targeted, short-term support to children and families in crisis across the county, intervening where there is a risk of family breakdown (such as a child being taken into the care of the local authority) to help more children and young people remain safely at home and within their communities. As a Youth Worker, within the Stronger Families Team, your role will involve fostering meaningful relationships between young people, their parents or carers, and other professionals. You will be responsible for maintaining active communication with families and delivering informal education that promotes the social, emotional, and educational development of young people. Our support is grounded in trauma-informed practice, child development principles, and attachment theory. The Stronger Families Team assists families who are struggling with caregiving challenges and managing difficult or risky behaviours. Your role will be to ensure that children, young people, and their families receive tailored and creative support that meets their unique needs, enabling them to continue living safely within their family units. This is a fast-paced, intensive service, and you will be expected to meet regularly with families. This is a countywide position, and you will need a full, clean driver’s license and access to a vehicle (a taxi service will be provided if a disability prevents you from driving).
