We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Data & Technology Team. This person would use their knowledge and understanding of business data analytics, methodologies, and technologies to identify and address UK Biobank's business analytics reporting requirements.
Can you do it?
The answer is “yes”, if you have a keen interest in developing your career within Business Analytics. The key responsibilities are:
* Meet with department leads and other key stakeholders to understand their requirements for business intelligence, data analysis, and data modelling
* Work with the Head of Information Security to ensure all work adheres to security policies, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards
* Collect and analyse user feedback to ensure reports meet the needs of the organisation
* Support projects requiring business intelligence, ensuring solutions remain aligned with organisational objectives
* Use best practices to design, build, and deploy secure ETL pipelines using SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Microsoft Power Automate, as well as third-party APIs
* Check the accuracy and integrity of data and information to ensure high standards of quality are maintained
Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hybrid working is available. Located in Greater Manchester (initially based in Stockport with a move to Manchester Science Park mid to late 2026).
Is this 'you'?
Reporting to the Database Administrator, you will have:
* Experience in data preparation, cleansing, quality assurance, and integrity checking
* Awareness of the business analytics lifecycle
* Demonstrable experience using Microsoft Power BI
* Knowledge and experience of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
* Familiarity with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) and Power Query M
* Awareness of the values and principles expressed in data modelling
