About the Programme
* The programme offers a professionally paid placement of 6 months, from May to November 2025.
* There will be a strong likelihood of a permanent role at the end of the programme.
* To support your transition back into the workplace, you will receive an internal mentor and a buddy for your day-to-day questions.
* You will benefit from Career Returners’ Coaching Programme throughout your time on the programme.
* As part of the cross-company programme, you will have a ready-made peer support group of other returners re-entering the insurance sector.
* We are willing to accept flexible working requests.
The Opportunity
The Claims department aims to be market leaders in the provision of an efficient, cost-effective and professional service to our brokers and clients. We aim to be proactive and flexible in the management of claims whilst maintaining our integrity.
The claims administration assistant will assist team members in driving the claims’ philosophy of being “The most customer-focused, nimble and value-adding claims team in the market”. To achieve this through agreeing, reviewing and achieving individual objectives, contributing and supporting team members, clear communications with TPAs and service providers; and interaction with brokers and policyholders. Passing back any key information in this regard to your manager/the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Take ownership for various administration tasks including claims record keeping and manual claims processing tasks to support the claims adjusting functions.
* Communicate with brokers and service providers (by telephone and email) to develop positive relationships and knowledge of their business, and to obtain information relating to claims queries.
* Implement claims diary management and closure of claims (subject to team procedures).
* Maintain the Solicitors and Adjusters Database – recording 3rd party instructions on in-house systems.
* Develop the ability to navigate and extract information from core claims systems and policy documents.
* Assist the wider Claims Admin team with central diary and any ad-hoc tasks.
* General administrative tasks and duties across the claims admin team.
You Will:
* Have previous insurance, financial services or legal experience (desirable).
* Possess excellent written and spoken communication skills.
* Be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Exhibit strong administrative skills.
* Demonstrate good organisational skills.
You Will Be:
* On a career break – for any reason - of at least 18 months (any PTA, school governor work, volunteering or similar is acceptable).
* Eligible to work in the UK and satisfy any regulatory requirements for the role if applicable.
