Themis Recruit are pleased to share an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our clients market-leading aviation finance team. Our client boasts a leading global aerospace practice. Their clientele spans across all areas of the aerospace industry, and have one of the largest teams in any international law firm.
Our client handles a comprehensive range of dispute resolution, regulatory, and transactional matters in aviation and aerospace. Their Aviation Finance team provides guidance to prominent aviation financiers, lessors, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) companies, insurers, airlines, and various aircraft operators on all facets of aircraft and engine trading, leasing, and financing transactions.
Recent Highlights Include:
* Represented an airline in financing four Boeing 767-300ER aircraft converted to freighters.
* Advised an airline on the legal aspects of a French Lease Financing supported by IFLI for the acquisition of three Airbus A321NEO aircraft.
* Assisted a leasing company with the sale and leaseback of six A321 aircraft to Wizz Air, alongside financing for additional aircraft.
* Guided multiple lessors in the sale and purchase of aircraft portfolios.
* Facilitated sale and operating leaseback transactions involving 30 newly delivered 737NG aircraft, including extraction from a PDP financing structure.
Requirements
1. An excellent academic record, with a degree classification of 2:1 or higher (or equivalent).
2. Approximately 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in aviation finance or relevant asset finance from a reputable commercial practice.
3. A strong interest in building a profile within the aviation sector, particularly in aviation finance and leasing.
4. Familiarity with common aviation financing structures and considerations related to aircraft sale, purchase, and leasing is preferred.
5. Proven ability to take on significant responsibility for transactions, comfortable in client-facing roles, and proactive and organized, even across international time zones.
6. Motivated and enthusiastic, able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
7. Ability to collaborate effectively with partners who have varying working styles.
8. Detail-oriented with excellent transaction management skills, capable of managing multiple correspondence strands.
9. Interest in mentoring and developing junior team members.
10. Strong client engagement and business development skills appropriate to your PQE.
11. Active involvement in practice and business development initiatives is expected.
12. International travel may be required.
