About the College
We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more than one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 4 across a range of different career pathways. We are the largest provider of A-Level and vocational programmes for school leavers in the region; we offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including a wide range of T-Level pathways.

What will it look like?
You will work 37 hours per week, earning £8.75 per hour (£16,871 per annum). This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of departments at York College! You will be based within the well established College & Leadership Administrative Services Team but will have the opportunity to work with various other teams such as HR, Finance, Exam Planning, and Marketing. Working with these different teams will definitely give you a well-rounded understanding of how different aspects of the college function. You will not only be developing technical skills in those areas but also building essential life skills like communication and problem-solving, which are valuable no matter what career path you pursue.
Alongside your day-to-day role you will study for the Business Administrator Level 3 qualification. You will be given one full day a week to undertake this program of learning. During this time, you will be supported by a mentor and an assessor. This apprenticeship will take approximately 18 months to complete.

1. Are 16 years or over (open to all age groups above 16)
2. Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent)
3. Don’t already have a degree in a similar field
4. Are not doing any other full-time course
5. Are eligible to work in the UK
6. Have an interest in Business Administration
7. Are ambitious and keen to progress
8. Are committed to achieving your qualifications
