New Start Recruitment is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Residential Support Workers in a 4-bed home for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Sheffield. About the Role: As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide essential support and guidance to children and young people, helping them navigate their daily lives and develop the skills they need for a brighter future. You will work closely with a small team to create a safe, nurturing environment where each child can thrive. Key Responsibilities: Build trusting relationships with children and young people in your care. Support daily living activities, including personal care, education, and social skills development. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs. Monitor and record progress, ensuring effective communication with team members and external professionals. Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations with empathy and understanding. Engage children in fun, educational activities that foster their personal growth and well-being. Accompany children on trips and activities, including extended stays at our caravans in Wales and other holiday destinations. About You: To excel in this role, you should have: A genuine passion for working with children and young people. Experience in a similar setting or a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Resilience and adaptability in a challenging yet rewarding environment. Rota Information: All staff work a 2 on 4 off rolling rota, which includes 2 sleep-ins and no waking nights. Example of the rota schedule: Off on Wednesday & Thursday, back in on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Off again on Tuesday & Wednesday, etc. Sleep-ins will be shared equally, with one double sleep-in every 3 sets of shifts, potentially more frequent due to annual leave or sickness.
