LOBBY AMBASSADOR AT THE READ HOUSE HOTEL
Chattanooga’s award-winning historic hotel, The Read House, has been hosting guests and visitors since 1872! We are currently searching for someone to join the team and bring the magic of Gatsby-era splendor to our guests as a Lobby Ambassador!
The Lobby Ambassador position is full-time, with varying days and hours.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As The Read House Lobby Ambassador, you are responsible for assisting and accommodating guests during their stay in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. You will deem it a priority to uphold company culture at all times by making guests feel welcomed and valued and ensure a magical experience at The Read House Hotel.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Proactively greet guests upon entrance of hotel and throughout the property, identifying needs and fulfilling appropriately
* Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
* Explain, show, and/ or familiarize guests with hotel services and amenities (hours of outlets, pool, and exercise room, etc.)
* Present yourself each day in a clean, polished look and in full uniform
* Provide interactive guest tours of Room 311, relaying the haunted history of Room 311 in both a theatrical and accurate manner
* Maintain and provide comprehensive and accurate information pertaining to available services and facilities of the property, points of interest, and entertainment attractions of the city and surrounding area
* Assist the sales and catering department by providing tours and information regarding banquet and event facilities available as needed
* Patrol the property and public areas to observe guest needs, ensure facilities are neat, orderly, and secure; report any needed repairs, clean up, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate department
* Provide reinforcement to the contracted bell staff involving duties and/ or property tours as needed
* Deliver packages to appropriate departments or guests as necessary
* Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
Job Requirements
Education/ Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Some college preferred
* At least one year of guest-facing customer service experience required
Skills:
* Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management
* Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag
* Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
* Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail
Physical & Mental Requirements:
* Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 100 pounds with or without assistance
* Talk and hear at a basic level and communicate with coworkers and guests to provide tour and property information
* Traverse work areas including the complex, guest rooms, and public areas
* Ascend and descend stairs with varying levels of height
* Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
* Ability to apply patience and understanding to all persons and situations
* Ability to perform well under pressure to meet the needs of guests, team members and/ or management
* The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc.
* Shift lengths vary and may include including weekends, mornings, and late evenings
* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
* This position occasionally works outside in various weather conditions
