Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated People Manager to join our client. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing HR functions across the site. Previous experience in a similar role is required. The role will be ensuring that the workforce is engaged, motivated, and aligned with the company's objectives. This position requires a strong understanding of HR practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyse data effectively to support strategic decision-making.
Duties
1. Oversee the recruitment process, including managing applicant tracking systems on Workday.
2. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and best practices.
3. Work primarily as a stand-alone HR person on site, reporting directly to the Thatcham Plant Manager.
4. Manage employee relations issues, providing support and mediation as necessary to maintain a positive workplace environment.
5. Facilitate training programs and professional development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth.
6. Maintain accurate records within the Human Resources Information System relating to sickness and absence management.
7. Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, presenting information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Skills
1. Proficiency in using HR software such as Workday.
2. Ideally you will be CIPD level 5 or have relevant experience.
3. Opportunities to support CIPD learning are available.
4. Strong data analysis skills to interpret HR metrics and inform decision-making processes.
5. In-depth knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
