Job Title: Senior/Associate Electrical Design Engineer Location: Cambridge Salary: Circa £70.000 (Depending on experience) Your new Role: In your new role, you will be required to meet the standards expected of a Senior Engineer/Associate and possess a proven track record of leading projects within your discipline and for overall project teams. You must demonstrate personal contributions leading to successful project commissions or deliveries. Working collaboratively in a joint leadership role within a mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) discipline team, you will provide design and technical guidance with a multidisciplinary approach across various projects. The ability to work independently on technical aspects of your discipline or possess specific specialist experience relevant to the role is essential. The role also entails working under the clear direction of the client, interpreting project needs comprehensively, and supervising detailed designs and the work of others in the discipline. Additionally, responsibilities include considering project feasibility within the discipline and leading the overall feasibility study. You are expected to take charge of producing detailed and performance specifications, subject to colleague review. Responsibilities extend to reviewing design programs, ensuring adequate resources for project completion, and supervising the completion of detailed designs. You will lead and direct others in producing detailed and performance specifications for the discipline, subject to review by colleagues. The Team: You will collaborate closely with like-minded professionals within the Cambridge office, where the Building Services team comprises 25 mechanical, electrical, and public health engineers as part of the National MEP Team, totaling nearly 400 MEP engineers. Qualifications - Key technical skills: Key technical requirements include attention to detail, familiarity with UK and European regulations in the discipline, proficiency in the latest electrical design software packages, competence in Revit MEP or other 3D design software, the ability to sketch and communicate technical details graphically, and proficiency in AutoCAD. The role also requires specific electrical skills, qualifications such as a BEng/Bsc/MEng in an applicable engineering discipline, accreditation from CIBSE/IET/Engineering Council, and working towards I Eng or C Eng status. Revit MEP training relevant to the discipline is also a plus.
