The role:
1. Oversee end-to-end procurement of ingredients for UK sites, ensuring cost efficiency and supply chain optimisation.
2. Develop and implement category management strategies tailored to commodity buying.
3. Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to drive value engineering and innovation.
4. Maintain supplier relationships, ensuring on-time, in-full deliveries and optimal risk management.
5. Ensure accurate reporting of procurement activities, including buying variances and supplier performance.
Ideal candidate:
1. Must have experience in food manufacturing and commodity procurement.
2. Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
3. Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancements.
4. Work cross-functionally with planning, manufacturing, and technical teams to align procurement with operational needs.
5. Maintain meticulous records and reporting using SAP, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
6. Demonstrate strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills to drive best-in-class procurement practices.
