These are high profile organisations, ranging from Museums & Galleries such as the V&A, Tate and the British Museum to media and creative industries such as the BBC and the BFI, and sports organisations including UK Sport and Sport England. We’re also responsible for regulators including the Gambling Commission and the Charity Commission and advisory bodies including the Treasure Valuation Committee.
The Appointments Team manages more than 400 public appointments to these public bodies. Public appointments are regulated by the Office for the Commissioner for Public Appointments, and are highly scrutinised inside and outside of the Department. The Team works with Ministers, Cabinet Office, No 10, public bodies themselves and Senior Leaders across DCMS to ensure a diverse range of talented people are appointed to our Boards, ensuring these organisations deliver for the public up and down the country.
